I put on my first pair of skates when I was about 4, but didn't start skating in group lessons until I was 7 after my Grandad won me a "learn to skate" package.  I stayed in group for about 2 years and then began working with a private coach.  I started out with one lesson a week but then quickly went to twice a week.  After skating in my first ice show, I knew I wanted to compete.  Now I skate every day but take a break on the weekends.

My sister Chelsea also skates.  She took the junior coach internship program, so she helps me whenever we skate together.

My favorite skater is Sasha Cohen.  I could not wait to read her book and learn all I could about her.  She is such a beautiful and talented skater.  It was a dream come true for me to meet her when she came to my home rink promoting the “Champions on Ice” tour.  I also really like Kimmie Meissner.

Besides skating, I love to play the piano.  I started playing when I was 3 years old, and then started lessons when I was about 4.  I practice piano every day and have played in two recitals a year for the last 7 or 8 years.  I was also in the school chorus and played the clarinet in the band for a year but practice was at the same time as skating so I had to give up the band.  I like to draw and paint when I have time.   Click here to see some of my artwork, all of which were done when I was younger than 10.

I have been on the “Principal’s list” every semester for the last 3 years and try to do my best at everything I do.

I have two birds --Roxanne and Monty, and a dog named Lucky.  Lucky is an Australian shepherd and is very energetic.
